TM Network’s Naoto Kine commits “hit-and-run”

Naoto Kine (51), a member of the band TM NETWORK, committed a minor “hit-and-run” earlier this month. On August 10, Kine was driving in Minami-Aoyama when his car mirror struck a 30-year-old male pedestrian.

According to police, Kine was driving his car at around 3:30pm. As he turned onto an alleyway, his side mirror hit the elbow of the pedestrian. However, Kine did not stop the car and continued to exit a few meters away at the other end of the alley. The man caught sight of part of Kine’s license plate and reported the incident to the police, who were able to eventually contact Kine.

Kine appeared at the police station on the 15th. He stated that noticed the pedestrian in his rear-view mirror, but because the man showed no reaction, Kine thought that his car had simply hit the telephone pole next to the man.

Kine has already apologized to the man, who suffered only a slight injury. Police still intend to submit the case to the prosecutor’s office.
