Tomoyasu Hotei cuts tour short due to injury

Rock guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei (48) has suffered a serious injury to his left arm, leading him to cancel the last two shows of his current tour, which started on January 24. He was scheduled to play in Fukuoka on the 14th and in Tokyo on the 18th.

According to his blog entry on Thursday, the injury occurred on Wednesday morning. After sending his daughter to school, he was playing with his dog at the park when he stumbled on uneven ground and fell onto pavement. Feeling pain in his arms, he went to a hospital for examination. The doctor determined that Hotei had suffered damage to the ligaments in his left elbow and left hand.

As a result, Hotei will need a month of rest and treatment, followed by several weeks of rehabilitation. Naturally, the guitarist had to cancel the two upcoming concerts.
