Tomoyasu Hotei to release “Fist of the North Star” single

Guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei will release a new CD single titled “STILL ALIVE” on August 4. This is his first non-collaboration single under his own name since “LIBERTY WINGS” in 2005.

The title track “STILL ALIVE” will be used as the theme song for “Fist of the North Star 201X,” a new project associated with the popular “Fist of the North Star” manga series. The single’s B-side will be an instrumental guitar cover of Crystal King’s “Ai wo Torimodose!!,” which was used as the first theme song of the “Fist of the North Star” anime series in 1984. In addition, the single’s CD jacket will feature an original illustration by “Fist of the North Star” mangaka Tetsuo Hara.

Although the single will go on sale in August, the “STILL ALIVE” song was released as a chaku-uta this week.
