Rock band Ulfuls formally announced on Thursday that they will be going on indefinite hiatus. Their last activity will be a pair of concerts in Osaka on August 29 and 30.
Fronted by vocalist Tortoise Matsumoto, the group initially formed in 1988. They made their CD debut four years later and released several hit songs during the ’90s. Even now, they are still one of the most recognized names in Japanese rock. However, after a 21-year history, the group’s members have finally decided that they needed time to take a break. Meanwhile, it appears that the four members will be pursuing their own solo projects.
