Voice actor Namikawa directs first film

Voice actor Daisuke Namikawa (33) is making his directorial debut with a film titled “Wonderful World.” The movie stars fellow voice actor Mamoru Miyano (26) and fashion model/actress Ayumi Uehara (27).

The film’s premise is that humans exist in two separate worlds. In addition to the reality that we know, there is a second world called “Hemu,” a wild place where survival is the ultimate goal. When we sleep in our world, we live in Hemu, though we retain no memory of it. However, there are a few people who are aware of Hemu and its connection to our world.

In addition to directing, Namikawa has a role in the movie. The rest of the supporting cast (most of which are also voice actors) includes Yuka Hirata, Showtaro Morikubo, Tomokazu Sugita, Yuko Kaida, Yumehito (of the band Ayabie), Hiroshi, Tsuyoshi Koyama, Miki Nagasawa, Mitsuki Saiga, Anri Katsu, Fuyuka Oura, Tomokazu Seki, Toshiyuki Morikawa, Mitsuo Iwata, Rikiya Koyama, Keiji Fujiwara, Koichi Yamadera, and Kenji Utsumi.

“Wonderful World” is scheduled for an early summer 2010 release.
