Voice actor Yasuo Iwata dies at 67

Voice actor Yasuo Iwata died of lung cancer on Saturday, it has been learned. He was 67. Although he was known for many voice roles in TV anime and films, he also acted in live-action works.

One of Iwata’s best known voice roles was the character Nanbutsu Isasaka in the “Sazae-san” anime series. He was the third actor to play the character, starting in 2002. He was replaced by Kotaro Nakamura earlier this month.
