The mobile game “Watashi no Host-chan” is being turned into a television drama series next season. Officially titled “Watashi no Host-chan ~Shichinin no Host~,” the show will be the first drama produced and directed by television writer Suzuki Osamu, who is better known for working on many popular shows such as “Mecha-Mecha Iketeru!” and ”SMAP x SMAP.”

According to Suzuki, the drama will also incorporate variety show and documentary elements, providing a glimpse into the actual world of host clubs. The story is set in a host club in the Kabukicho neighborhood of Shinjuku, called Club Vanilla. While the club’s five excellent hosts are fiercely competing for the top, two new hosts are suddenly added to the mix. With their different personalities, the seven hosts work their hardest to become the shop’s number one.

The show’s cast, who were chosen through audition, are said to all be good-looking men who could pass for real hosts.

The series will air on TV Asahi on Tuesday nights at 1:51am, starting October 4.
