Yankees sign Tigers’ Igawa

The New York Yankees have signed a five-year, $20 million contract with pitcher Kei Igawa of the Hanshin Tigers. Igawa is the second Japanese pitcher to be signed by the MLB in less than a week, as the Boston Red Sox recently signed Daisuke Matsuzaka of the Seibu Lions to a six-year, $52 million contract.
