Yonekura stars as negotiator in TV Asahi drama

Ryoko Yonekura will star in a TV Asahi drama series this winter, tentatively titled “Koshonin ~The Negotiator~.”

She plays Reiko Usagi, a police negotiator working in a special unit known as SIT. In the first episode, she deals with a criminal who has taken a middle-aged woman as a hostage in an apartment.

This is Yonekura’s first time in a police drama. The show is said to include action scenes as well. According to the actress, one of her models for the role is Angelina Jolie’s character in “Mr. & Mrs. Smith.”

The show’s cast includes Takanori Jinnai, Katsumi Takahashi, and Toshio Kakei as police officers. Idol Megumi Yasu will play Usagi’s friend.

TV Asahi will broadcast the series at 9:00pm on Thursdays, beginning in January.
