Yoshiki discusses X Japan plans

On Monday, X Japan leader Yoshiki held a press conference in Yoyogi to promote a new energy drink, but he also took the opportunity to talk about the upcoming schedule for his reunited band. Though he has not yet fully recovered from his injuries, he re-confirmed previous reports that X Japan will be playing in Paris on November 22.

He said the band will be in Japan for the winter holidays, playing a concert on Christmas and another for the New Year’s countdown. The venues are still being decided, but a formal announcement is expected to be made soon.

Yoshiki is embarking on a promotional tour throughout Asia from Tuesday to Friday, visiting Taiwan, Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Korea. Upcoming concerts in those cities are being finalized, and Yoshiki commented that China may be added to the list. The postponed New York concert was not mentioned.

Yoshiki also revealed that X Japan has created a new song. In addition, he mentioned that he will be producing music for a U.S. event in 2010 that will celebrate the 100th anniversary of director Akira Kurosawa’s birth.
