Yoshino Kimura, Nozomi Ohashi co-star in drama special

Actresses Yoshino Kimura (33) and Nozomi Ohashi (10) will play a mother and daughter in a drama special titled “Happy Birthday,” based on a best-selling novel by Kazuo Aoki.

Kimura plays a mother who never felt love from her parents. Because of that, she shows no love towards her own 9-year-old daughter (Ohashi), causing the young girl to suddenly lose her ability to speak. Mariko Kaga and Shiro Ito also appear in the drama.

“Happy Birthday” is being shown as part of Fuji TV’s “Sagasou! Nipponjin no Wasuremono,” a special program that will be broadcast over three consecutive nights in November. “Happy Birthday” will be aired on the second night.
