‘Yureru’ claims 4 awards at Yokohama

The awards ceremony of the Yokohama Film Festival were held on Sunday. “Yureru” won four awards: Best Film, Best Actor (Teruyuki Kagawa), and Best Director and Best Screenplay (both for Miwa Nishikawa).

Best Actress was awarded to Yu Aoi for “Hula Girl” and “Honey and Clover.” Takashi Sasano won Best Supporting Actor, while Kazue Fukiishi and Yuko Nakamura were co-winners of the Best Supporting Actress award. Best Newcomers were Kenichi Matsuyama and Yuriko Yoshitaka.

Isao Ishii won Best Cinematography for “Strawberry Shortcakes.” Takayuki Nakamura earned Best New Director, and his film “Yokohama Mary” also was given the special Judges’ Prize.
